Much of the material was first published by Border Keep Ltd. in 1983. The present book contains new songs such as 'This place is on my mind'... (written for the BBC Durham 900 Celebrations in 1993) and 'Katie was there'... from the first Catherine Cookson stage production Katie Mulholland in 1983.
